We take on the substation’s complete chain: electrical design, manufacturing of the medium-voltage cells and panels, supply, assembly, and commissioning. As panel builders and an engineering firm under one company, a single point of contact is responsible for the entire project and for integrating all the equipment.
We manufacture the medium-voltage protection, metering, and transformer cells at our 2,000 to 2,500 m² plant in Yumbo, without relying on an external supplier for the substation’s power equipment. This means technical control over quality, manufacturing lead times of 20 to 30 days, and integration with the low-voltage panels of the same project.
Every substation is backed by detailed engineering, protection coordination and short-circuit analysis, and products certified to RETIE 2024 by the SIDE laboratory up to 1000 V ACDC. With 41 years in the Colombian electrical sector, the design is developed from the perspective of the team that later manufactures the equipment and executes the project.

Energizar’s electrical substation service is a comprehensive medium-voltage solution that we design, manufacture, and install from start to finish. From the cells we produce at our own plant to the detailed engineering that supports the design, we control every component without relying on third parties for the power equipment. These are the service components.
Medium-voltage cell manufacturing
We manufacture the medium-voltage cells that form the core of the substation – protection, metering, and transformer up to 36 kV and 17.5 kV – at our Yumbo plant. The power equipment is designed, manufactured, and integrated in-house, sized to operate with the low-voltage panels of the same project, without intermediation from an external supplier.
Design and installation of industrial and commercial substations
We design, manufacture, and install industrial and commercial electrical substations for plants and commercial complexes, integrating transformation, protection, metering, and panels produced at our own plant. The design, equipment manufacturing, installation, and commissioning remain under a single supplier, without gaps in responsibility between third parties.
Skid-type and shelter-type transformation centers
As a packaged component of our substation service, we manufacture skid-type transformation centers on a metal structure and shelter-type units in a concrete electrical room. These are plug-and-play solutions that integrate the transformer, substation, panels, and metering cabinet into a single unit, supplied for large solar farms, distributed generation, and industry. They arrive on site ready to connect.
Substation capacity expansion
We expand the capacity of substations in operation when a plant or commercial complex grows and the installed infrastructure falls short. We design the expansion, manufacture the necessary transformation and protection equipment, and carry out the work coordinated with operational continuity. This is a one-time engineering project, not recurring maintenance.
Detailed engineering
Before manufacturing and assembling, we carry out the engineering. We handle protection coordination, short-circuit analysis, power quality studies, and the industrial and medium-voltage electrical designs that support the substation. Since we are the ones who later manufacture the cells and execute the project, the design is developed for verifiable execution.
In-house manufacturing of medium-voltage cells and detailed engineering under a single supplier
